I was so excited when Isaac’s mummy called to arrange Isaac’s cake smash photoshoot. She told me he loves Peter Rabbit and I’ve been hoping to do a Peter Rabbit cake smash photoshoot for a while.
Did you love Beatrix Potter when you were a child? I did. I remember flicking through the books over and over, looking at the sweet illustrations. For this session I knew I wanted that whimsical, hand drawn look for this cake smash so I set to work paining some backdrop paper with a country theme. Well I’m no Beatrix Potter, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. I can imagine Peter Rabbit and his buddies scampering about in this picture, can you?
Issac is such a smiley little guy. He loved the photoshoot, even though he wasn’t quite sure of the cake (maybe he would have preferred the carrots instead). That sometimes happens, not all babies wan’t to smash the cake during a cake smash photoshoot, but he had a little nibble. That’s the great thing about a cake smash and splash session. Even if baby doesn’t want to smash the cake, you’ll still get plenty of lovely images to choose from.
After the cake smash photoshoot we got out the bubble bath. Isacc, like most babies a this age, loved it. The splash session is a great way to get baby clean if they’re covered in icing, but in this case it was just a good excuse to splash around and have fun.
If your little bunny rabbit is turning one soon, get in touch with me to book a cake smash photoshoot. It’s a fun way to celebrate and get some great images.
