Take Better Photos
Saturday November 16th, 10.15 -4, Pontypridd Lido
Learn how to use your camera to take beautiful images of your family in a relaxed, friendly environment
Take Control of Your Camera
Would you love to take beautiful pictures of your family, but you just can’t get the images you want?
Before I did the course I would put my camera in auto mode and hope for the best. In just a few hours I learnt about light, apertures, shutter speeds, and much more, conveyed in such simple terms with the opportunity to then put that knowledge into practice straight away and see what effects little changes can make. Since then I have been inspired to take lots of photos of my girls, with some amazing results, and am really keen to learn more.Abi
Photographing children brings it’s own set of challenges. This class is designed with parents in mind, so you’ll not only learn your camera settings, you’ll also get tips on working with children.
Hands On Learning
This is not a theory class, we’ll be using our cameras throughout the day, both inside and outside, so you’ll leave the class feeling confident in using your camera.
We’ll keep the jargon to a minimum and focus on the key techniques to improve your photos
The Struggle Is Real
You buy a good camera, one that take great images. You’re so excited to capture your children. But you soon realise that it’s not as easy as it looks. You realise that the camera is just a tool, one that requires skills to be able to use it correctly.
There is so much to learn in photography, it can be so overwhelming. The jargon makes it seem like a foreign language.
With the right training you can learn how to take the images you have always dreamed of. Imagine being able to take beautiful images of your children every day, the little moments that would otherwise fade away.
As a family photographer I know the key things you need to know in order to take great photos of children.
This course is designed with parents in mind. Children can be tricky subjects (they don’t sit still!), so as well as learning how to use your camera you’ll also learn techniques for getting your kids on side.
I thoroughly enjoyed the photography course, I learnt so much about my camera in those few hours then ever before. Being able to know what all the different buttons did was amazing and not just using auto and hoping for the best . Active use during the class was a big highlight for me and the class in the whole has motivated me to take ALOT more photos of my two sons and I am amazed at the quality of photos I am getting.Natasha

I'm not sure if I have the right camera for this course
To get the most out of this course you’ll a need a camera that allows you to use manual settings. Any dSLR will allow you to do this, but also some bridge and compact cameras. You don’t need a camera with an interchangeable lens for this course. If you are not sure whether you have a suitable camera, drop me a message telling me what camera you have and I will check for you.
I already know a little about photography, is this course suitable for me?
Can I bring my children?
I would like to learn but I don't have a camera yet
If you’re thinking of getting a camera, I have a guide on great entry level cameras for all budgets here. If you’d like any help choosing a camera, you’re welcome to contact me and I’ll do my best to help you.
I can't make this date, are there any other dates available?
This is the only date I am running at the moment, however if there is demand I would love to run more classes. Let me know if you’d like another date so I know there is demand, and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
